This self-contained office and living quarters offered a bit of civilization in the rocky mountain wilderness. Railroad executives were normally accompanied by a male secretary to perform administrative duties. This room was the secretaries office, library and personal living quarters. Containing a wardrobe, fold down Murphy bed and sink, the room also served as a full office including the new automatic typewriter and of course,  the  telegraph.
